Rats On Their Way Indoors Due To Rain
It’s been raining lately and will rain again soon and that means rats are trying to come indoors. Many people hear them and buy the least expensive do-it-yourself option, which are glue boards.
When laying glue boards, if you don’t do it properly you are essentially just throwing money out the window. Actually, three out of four times, when I show up to a customers house who has already laid glue boards down to catch a rodent, they are not properly placed.
All of a rat’s whiskers are pointed outwards, and are constantly feeling the wall next to them. You will almost never see a rat scurry across the floor, you will see them scurry along a wall or baseboard. Rats need to use their whiskers to see where they are going because they are virtually blind. Their eyes can see some motion, silhouettes and light but that’s it.
When laying glue boards, you have to lay them in specific areas, length wise, parallel with the wall and in the center of the wall as opposed to corners.

Another important tip is to use unscented glue boards to catch rats and peanut butter scented glue boards to catch mice. The rats will avoid the scented ones, but mice are more inquisitive.
