How To De-Web Thorough And Effectively
Are you tired of seeing spider webs all over your house or backyard? Unipest Pest Control’s chief inspector Cardon Ellis provides successful tips on how to properly and effectively de-web in all possible areas from spiders.
“There’s a daddy long legs and the cellar sliders and everything put up high. You got to constantly be looking down low for webs,” Ellis says. He wants us to be extremely thorough on touching all corners of the web areas, so bending and squatting are necessary.
Ellis does not want us to simply hit the corners, but to effectively “go up in the corner where you see the webs, and then slowly spin the de-weber pole.” Wiping out the web is the goal so the one with the de-web pole is not “matting it on to the onto the surface of the structure.”
If the person can’t bend in certain places the de-web pole is 12 feet long in situations like this. To make the process easier, make sure to have a second pair of eyes in case a spot is missed.

Most homes have waterspouts and spiders like to form their webs near the bottom. Patio furniture is an area spiders tend to spread their webs. Tilting the furniture in this case is recommended because the person will have easier access to eliminate the webs. This will also make is easier for the second person to finish the job with the spray.
Keep in mind to thoroughly locate every space, even small areas such as pots and pallets. Move things around to effectively finish the job.
Kids toys such as a small playground or table is popular for black widows to form webs since they like that type of plastic.
“The dust from the home can get in your face especially if you’re twisting and doing this properly,” Ellis said.
Ellis advises to where goggles if its summertime since it’s the season with many dust particles collected throughout the house and outside. Gloves are not needed for this but homeowners can still wear them.
