Defeating Bed Bugs With Eco-Friendly And Organic Heat Treatment
A couple is ready to go to bed until they feel something running up their legs. They remove the covers and find an infestation of bed bugs!
The homeowners first saw their infestation in their master bedroom and soon there were more areas that needed to be treated.
Chief inspector of Unipest, Cardon Ellis, teaches us the process of how to use heat treatment to get rid of every bed bug in your household. Not only that but Cardon Ellis is using eco-friendly and organic products as requested from the homeowners.
Eco-friendly and organic products have been used for the past ten to twenty years because they are popular. It is effective which requires no chemicals and it is fast to use.
In order to produce an effective four-hour heat treatment for bed bugs, you will need the following:
- Make sure you have a good team.
- Make sure you have good equipment such as Greentech Heat Solutions.
- Make sure to perform a thorough inspection in order to locate the spots that need heat treatment.
- Prep the rooms.

“The first thing you do is actually remove all the wall plugs and the wall socket covers so the heat can indeed even get into the walls,” Cardon Ellis says when prepping a room.
The bed bugs hide inside the wall sockets or anything tiny that they can get into. This is why Cardon Ellis says to move all your belongings into the middle of the room. Fans will be placed along the room to “withstand all kinds of temperatures.”
Cardon Ellis then equips a 50,000 BTU heater by GreenTech. This can burn through “ten to twenty gallons of propane in one job.”
“Basically, you need to have the room at 120 degrees for four hours, 130 degrees for three hours, or 140 degrees for two hours before you can call the job complete.”
A thermal imager can come in handy if you want to see what is going in inside the house. It will be extremely hot inside because the ovicidal ensures that even the eggs will be exterminated. Cardon Ellis called this the “complete kill.”
